Position Title: Purple People
Responsible to: Merge Ministry (Dawn Kvigne)
Key Objective: To do “Whatever It Takes” to make guests, attendees, and members feel welcome at BMZ Church.
Key Work Areas: Front Doors, Lobby (inc. Java Jct/ MZ Information Table) as assigned; elsewhere as needed.
General Duties
1. Attend Hospitality Team meetings
2. Be at your assigned position on time. This is:
7:15am for 7:45am Worship; 8:30am for 9am Worship; 10:15am 10:45am Worship
3. Seek to help guests by answering questions and directing them toward their desired need
4. Stay at your position through at least the 1st song of the Song Celebration (not just the opening song)
5. Return to the alternate position during the final song of Worship and remain there until most people have gone home
6. Encourage team members in their duties
7. Find your own replacement if you are unable to work your scheduled time
Specific Duties-Door
1. Hold door and greet each person as they enter the building (Door positions)
2. Park cars as needed for handicap/valet parking (Door positions)
3. After Worship, trade positions with another PP so you can meet new people!
Specific Duties-Lobby
1. Offer guests a cup of coffee, etc
2. Hand out bulletins
3. Offer assistance at Java Jct/Information Table if needed
4. After Worship, trade positions with another PP so you can meet new people!
Additional Notes
1. The Hosts are rotated from the church membership every two weeks. They are responsible for:
- Providing/overseeing refreshments as indicated in Host letter
- Taking up offering
- Clean-up of refreshments after Worship
- Tidying up the sanctuary after Worship
2. Kindly guide/assist the Hosts if they are asking for direction with their role or forget to do something.
